Okay…so does anyone see a pattern forming after Trump’s asylum ban was shot down this morning? One man or one party cannot do anything on their own in this country. The very thing that stopped Trump’s asylum ban is the same thing that would protect a democratic president from allowing everyone in…check and balances. So instead of cuing up all the outrage and awful Facebook comments how about we start working together…and by working together I don’t mean point the finger at the other side and saying all the things they do that make it impossible to work together.
Don’t call the other side names because you can’t fool yourself into thinking it is going to help, it is all about you saying something that makes you feel better and makes the situation worse. We have to work together…one more time…we have to work together or this country is only going to descend further into polarization.
Take a cue from our guest last night, an retired US Army psychological operations specialist who is saying that campaigns and the media are using the same tactics they use against foreign countries and their citizens to sway elections. He knows because he was recruited by campaigns after he retired and worked in them. He literally said that they know the effects that it is having on our country but they use it anyway because it works. They know people from the left has emotional triggers that they massage and people from the right have their emotional triggers that they massage. What does it equal? The shit show that we have in our country with Facebook and Twitter being the direct mainline into those emotions.
So if we all care about this country as much as I think we do, open your eyes. It’s not some secret conspiracy…it’s just truth hiding in plain sight. Do you think it’s a coincidence that we have many ex military men all stepping up to say this rhetoric is the biggest threat to our democracy and now they are coming forward not just with vague statements but real facts?
So what did our guest say last night….it only works if we don’t know they are doing it. So pay attention to what you listen to and call out the tactics they are using. Stop letting that psy-op work on us, make us dehumanize each other, think shortsighted, go after revenge, call people names, post stupid mindless memes, and instead put the guns down against fellow Americans and try to work together. Get invited loved, do some research that isn’t found on a link aggregate site and instead read for yourself or talk to someone who does the job.
That is what will turn this country around and something that will demand our 3 separate but equal parts of government work together to come up with real compromised legislation to solve things like a broken healthcare system, immigration system, etc.
