Perhaps one of the most frustrating things about the 2020 Election isn’t Donald Trump Vs The Democrats, but more The Democrats Vs. The Democrats. Just watching the debates and the various campaign events it is abundantly clear the candidates do not have a clue how to appeal to anyone who is outside of their base. Too much time is spent talking at people with little forethought as to how those comments are coming across to the very people you are trying to convert.
So we are taking it upon ourselves to do their job for them! This week’s episode kicks off the first in a series of episodes aimed at laying out what each candidate needs to do to beat their opponents. What better way to do that then try to convince on the air & in real time a supporter of another candidate?
For this weeks installment we are laying out the playbook for how the Democratic Party can beat Bernie Sanders and convert his supporters. Playing the role of Bernie Sanders supporter we invited Medium writer & lead singer of Tethra into the studio to help us understand the Bernie Sanders movement and get his honest feedback about our playbook and whether it changed anything about his support for Sanders. To keep us honest, we invited our good friend Dan Evans back on the show to give a neutral moderate take on the playbook as well.
Part 1 of this 2 part podcast focuses on exploring the Bernie Sanders movement where our guests give rather blunt and honest feedback about the tactics that the other candidates are using and the rather opposite effect it is having on their support.
Part 2 of this 2 part podcast focuses in on Michael taking all of the feedback he received from Bernie Sanders supporters and created hypothetical policy proposals including healthcare, tax reform, and student loan forgiveness to see if presented with viable alternative positions that address their concerns, would they support this hypothetical candidate.
